All the Chairs to Date

Here is a parade of all the chairs I have re-upholstered.  I hope some of them are OK.  I am not sure what I expected by doing these but I have had fun.  So many people in these classes actually do more work for other people than for their own homes.

Another Chair Done

Another chair done and 5 or 6 more left to do.  Most of these have no homes, and no one wants my chairs.  I must be a bad re-upholsterer.  At this point I don't care, I am enjoying working on them.  I guess I will eventually try to sell them in a garage sale or something.

All those little plantlings are out now.  Not all are planted but they are all outside.

The Side Chair

Worked on the side chair tonight.  I had trouble with a couple things and it was re-do night.  It might be finished if I had not made mistakes

Home is a Great Place

I have been out of town for 3 days but I swear it feels like I was gone for a week.  It is so good to be home.

Will I Ever Learn?

Probably not!  I am the only one in class to staple my finger once much less three times.  It is not that I was in a hurry, it has been a matter of stapling around a corner and not being able to see and holding the fabric with the hand that gets stapled.  Oh well, a little bleeding never hurt.  I did make great progress on the side chair tonight.

The New Chair

I started a new chair tonight.  It is a simple side chair.  It took longer to strip it than it will to finish.

Garden Work

I took my time and rested a lot today.  After a much needed afternoon nap I went outside to see what the husband was doing.  He had rescued the old tomato cages from last summer and had started to build another small raised bed garden area.  I was able to help some.  So glad I had the opportunity to help.  We have a small barn that has a wood floor.  Sometime during this winter the gophers dug up and deposited the largest pile of dirt inside the barn.  It was enough dirt to fill the new little raised bed garden.  I hate gophers, but we took this lemon and made lemonade.

Almost Done?

I keep thinking I am almost done with the twins then I realize I am no where near done.  But after tonight's class I may be almost done.  The task tonight was to make that little piece on the front of the arm of a wing-back chair.  I had no pattern so I had to make my own.  Then I had to cut heavy cardboard, two for each arm.  In between the two pieces I used the nails that hold the piece in place.  Next I had to cover the pieces.
